Hearing Conservation Course

Aloha,

Are you doing enough to conserve your hearing?  Some quick notes:

  • According to the National Institutes of Health, noise-induced hearing loss is the most common work-related disease. Thirty million people are at risk in the workplace, in recreational settings and at home. An estimated 10 million Americans have already permanently damaged their hearing.
  • Experts note that this preventable problem is not age related – noise-induced hearing loss affects the young and old.
  • The National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD) estimates that approximately 26 million of Americans between the ages of 20 and 69 have high frequency hearing loss due to exposure to loud sounds or noise at work or in leisure activities.
