1. Purpose: The Honolulu Sertoma Club has been established to:
(a) Provide sponsorship for the George B. Carter Serteens Club of Hawaii, allowing us to use the Serteen name.
- Ensure the Serteens Club of Hawaii maintains its 501c(3) tax exemption.
- Ensure we have liability insurance coverage for Serteens Club of Hawaii activities, to include the two major camps – Leadership Camp and Knights Motivational Camp.
- Provide an organization to support the Serteens Club of Hawaii
- Financially
- With Leadership
- With Mentors
(b) Provide an organization for Serteen Club of Hawaii Alumni to continue their service to the community.
(c) Continue the vision of George B. Carter in supporting gifted and talented education in the State of Hawaii
2. Mission: The mission of the Honolulu Sertoma Club is to serve the community through its sponsorship of the George B. Carter Serteens Club of Hawaii and other community service projects.
3. Intent: The Honolulu Sertoma Club is primarily being established to take over sponsorship of the George B. Carter Serteens Club of Hawaii from the Los Angeles-Hawaii Sertoma Club and to keep it as part of the Sertoma International organization.
4. The Vision: The Honolulu Sertoma Club will:
(a) Sponsor and support the George B. Carter Serteens Club of Hawaii by:
- Serving as the sponsoring Sertoma Club in Sertoma International.
- Provide financial support, as required.
- Provide leadership training, as required.
- Provide guest speakers for Serteens events and camps, as required.
- Provide a resource for Serteens looking at specific colleges or professions.
- Establishing a fund or endowment to support scholarships for Serteens going to college.
(b) Support gifted and talented education in the State of Hawaii.
(c) Support the Sertoma International community service initiatives.
